Masterclass with Yoav Talmi

April 27th-May 2nd 2014 with M° Yoav Talmi and the Berlin Sinfonietta

We are happy to collaborate for the first time with one of the world most distinguished conductors and teachers, Maestro Yoav Talmi. Head of Orchestral-Conducting Department at the Buchmann-Mehta School Of Music, Tel Aviv University, In collaboration with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, and Music Director of the Israel Chamber Orchestra.
It is a great opportunity to study from Maestro Tami’s vast experience as an intentionally active conductor and composer, who worked with the world’s most prominent orchestras such as the Berlin Philharmonic, Münich Philharmonic, all major orchestras in London, Wiener and Hamburger Symphoniker, Amsterdam Concertgebouw,  and many more all over the globe.

Besides intensive active conducting sessions with a professional orchestra, each one of the participants will have the chance to work with Mr. Talmi on critical aspects of conducting including studying the score, musical analysis, conducting technique and string technique. We will have four orchestra rehearsals (4 hours long each) with the professional musicians of the Berlin Sinfonietta.  All the participants will have the chance to perform in the final, public concert. Maestro Talmi’s idea for the masterclass, the Classical Development, will expose to its participants Talmi’s unique approach to the aspects of the musical development in the classical era.  Starting from the “Sturm und Drang” period with Haydn’s 44th Symphony, going through Mozart’s late symphonic accomplishment, and one of the greatest masterpieces of all times, his 40th Symphony in G minor, and reaching Beethoven’s 4th Symphony, the masterclass will cover a long span of time, in-which one can follow musical processes and developments such as in form, harmony, the development of musical instruments and the orchestra in General, etc.

The number of participants is limited to twelve who will be selected from the applicants. Application is possible until the masterclass is full. There is no age limit and conductors at all levels are advised to apply.
